The organisation

The British School of Geneva is wholly owned and managed by ASC International House. ASC started life as a small private language school on the Rue de Lausanne in the early 1970s. Following affiliation to the International House World Organisation in 1996 and rapid and consistent growth ever since, the organisation is now one of the largest privately owned educational institutions in the area.

Nowadays, language training accounts for only a part of our activities. In 2005 we opened our A-Level College for teenage anglophone students wishing to access university and in 2007, in partnership with Jeanne d'Arc (a large private school in France), we opened our bi-lingual school programme at primary, collège and lycée level.
From small and humble beginnings, the organisation now occupies most of the 7 floors of our building on the Rue de Lausanne and also possesses a luxurious 15 room Executive Training Centre in the banking quarter of Geneva. As the unique supplier for Nestlé we also operate a full-scale training centre in Vevey. Our staff has grown with us and today we employ around 200 highly qualified teachers, administrators, teacher-trainers and managers.

In 2001 ASC International House was the first institution to receive EduQua certification in Suisse Romande, a quality label which has been renewed every year since (most recently in 2010).

ASC International House is a member of the AGEP (Association Genevoise des Ecoles Privées) and of the FSEP (Féderation Suisse des Ecoles Privées).

Following inspection by the British Council in 2004 ASC International House was appointed as a recognized examinations centre for the UK Examining Authority Edexcel and is authorized to run all A-Level, O-Level and IGCSE examinations.

In 2008, ASC International House became the exclusive examination centre in Geneva for the London Tests of English.

The International House Trust is a UK registered educational charity and operates a not-for-profit policy.

In May 2008, the organisation was granted permission to open Geneva Secondary School by the Département de l'Instruction Publique (Service de l'Enseignement Privé) and the school opened its doors in September 2009.

In 2010, ASC International House was granted permission to open a primary section – the 3 sections of Primary, Secondary and A-Level have been re-grouped and renamed asThe British School of Geneva.

ASC International House is proud to support Médecins Sans Frontières (www.msf.ch).

The British School of Geneva and its students also support Terres des Hommes.
