A-Level College
Our A-Level College (part of The British School of Geneva) is the natural stepping stone for those following the British curriculum and IGCSE programme.
This is a 2-year programme of study leading to university entrance and is open to students 16 and above, of all nationalities and educational backgrounds.
A-Levels in 3 subjects are sufficient to meet the general entrance requirements of universities in the UK and European Union and many American universities.
Specialising in fewer main subjects is far better suited to many students than the numerous subjects required for the International Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureate or the Swiss Maturité.
The A-Level College aims to act as a transitional phase from a structured secondary school environment to the relative freedom of a university environment.
Students not only have a real choice in the subjects that they want to study but are also required to learn how to manage their time and their workload.
As the class sizes are kept small (10 students maximum) there is a large amount of individual support and on-going tutorial support. There are also regular meetings involving parents, students and staff. The entire curriculum is taught in English by well-qualified teachers.
All examinations are independently assessed and managed by Edexcel, one of the examination boards approved by the UK government. The British School of Geneva is an authorised Edexcel centre.
